Jax joined HSWRI in 2022 as an aquaculture technician at our Carlsbad Hatchery, where he assisted with white seabass husbandry and production. In 2023, he moved down to our Mission Bay facility to help lay the groundwork for our IMTA research and invertebrate propagation. Jax now works as an Invertebrate Rearing Manager, leading all aspects of Pacific calico scallop production and assisting with larval rearing for the warty sea cucumber. He also assists with systems engineering and maintenance for the facility. Jax graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 2019 with a B.S. in Environmental Management and Protection, and a minor in Biology
