Hayley Heiner

Hayley joined HSWRI in the fall of 2023 and currently works as the Education and Outreach Manager. In this role, she manages all aspects of HSWRI’s Seabass in the Classroom aquaculture-based education program and oversees other institute education initiatives and presence at community outreach events. After graduating from UC San Diego with a degree in Environmental Systems and minor in Education in Sciences, Hayley worked in various informal education roles across San Diego including positions at the Birch Aquarium at Scripps and San Diego Bird Alliance. Hayley is passionate about improving scientific literacy and providing effective science communication so audiences of all ages and backgrounds can understand and engage with conservation and research.
