Donald B. Kent, MSc, CEO/President: 50 years’ experience in marine aquaculture constructing and managing numerous marine laboratories in CA and FL. Currently developing an Aquaculture Development Laboratory adjacent to the HSWRI marine hatchery on a 6-acre parcel of land. Served two terms on NOAA’s Marine Fisheries Advisory Committee (serve as the first Chair of its Aquaculture Committee) and at the request of its Director served on several NOAA Fisheries ad hoc advisory panels. At the invitation of Senator Bill Nelson (FL) testified before the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee on the need for America’s need to develop marine aquaculture. Former Board member of the San Diego Maritime Alliance, the San Diego Oceans Foundation and the San Diego State University Diving Safety Control Board. Constructed and managed SDSU’s Center for Marine Studies laboratory available to all marine related faculty and students. Member of the San Diego Mayor’s Clean Water Task Force. Member of California Aquaculture Development Committee. Recipient of NOAA Fisheries Stewardship and Sustainability Award.
