Dr. Primus has been working as a fish veterinarian in industry, academia, and the nonprofit sector for over a decade. He has a great deal of experience with clinical fish health management, diagnostics, and applied research across a diverse range of fish species. Much of his work has focused on infectious disease in cultured fish populations and improving the sustainability of aquaculture through improved fish health management. Dr. Primus has published numerous publications on a variety of topics, most of which have been related to fish health over the last 10 years. During this time, he has been a collaborator on several domestic and international research projects, and has served on the USDA-NIFA Aquaculture Research Review Panel and the North Central Regional Aquaculture Center’s Technical Committee for Extension.
